...That doesn't mean that nothing changed. Look at Redmond these days and you'll see a kinder, gentler Microsoft. Many of the players who earned Jackson's opprobrium are gone; even Gates has receded under the considerable shadow of CEO Steve Ballmer. Windows XP, due out this fall, is much more respectful of non-Microsoft software than its predecessors (they've made it very easy to choose Netscape as your default browser, for example). Dubious add-ons like the "smart tags" that linked words to websites chosen by Microsoft have been quietly ditched...

The country has more than 7 million foreigners, about 9% of the population, the highest percentage in Western Europe. In state elections last year, the opposition Christian Democratic Union used as a campaign slogan "Kinder statt Inder," which means "children instead of Indians." The slogan was meant to suggest that the state should properly educate German children to fill the country's high-tech jobs rather than bring in foreigners. ...real "Kinder" issue is Germany's declining birth rate, which suggests the population will fall by 10 million in the next 50 years. ...firmly believe is one of the worst movies ever made. So they both lose points on that one. To be absolutely fair, Ben did show up in "Shakespeare in Love," but his performance was eerily similar to Keanu Reeves?s in "Much Ado About Nothing," so it?s probably kinder just to ignore...
