During the year our athletes have broken three of the Harvard and, at the same times, of the Intercollegiate records. Mr. Kip made the splendid record of 88 ft., 11 in., in throwing the hammer at the Intercollegiate meeting. Mr. Goodwin again lowered his half-mile record at our spring meeting making the distance in 2 min., 4-5 sec. Mr. Athkinson made record of 5 ft., 8 1-2 in., at the I. C. A. A. meeting. Mr. Atkinson really jumped 5 ft., by an amateur in America but the stupidity of one of the judges cost...

Porter's throws excelled Kip's until the last throw, but one made by the latter which cleared 88 feet 11 inches. This beats the best college record with the 16 1b. hammer by one foot. Porter was second...

We look forward, however, to next year confident that Harvard will again make a good fight for the championship cup which she has now won for four successive years...
...previous records, and in Mr. Atkinson, who cleared five feet six inches, we have an excellent man to take his place next year. The running of Mr. Goodwin and Mr. Morison was beyond all expectation, as the high wind led us to hope for no such records. Mr. Kip did better with the hammer than he has ever done before, and will make a good showing in his events next Saturday...
