...ought not to have much difficulty in adapting himself; and Blackall has substituted at point both this year and last. In the short practice before the scrimmage yesterday evening Childs went in at left end, as Leslie is still out of the game on account of an injured knee. Although both Huntington and Childs were new to their positions, the line worked well together and ought to be nearly as fast as the former combination. There was little opportunity to judge the ability of the new defence...
Captain Hornblower, who was injured in the game with Cornell, is out of the game for the rest of the season with a broken cheek bone. A slight operation was necessary to reset the bone. Leslie's knee will not permit his playing for some time. Therefore it will be necessary to make several shifts or substitutions in the forward line to strengthen it for the game with Dartmouth on Saturday. The permanent absence of Captain Hornblower will greatly weaken the attack, as he was the best of the forwards at advancing the puck...
During the past week the University team's progress has been somewhat held back by injuries to several members of the squad. Leslie received a serious injury to his knee in the Princeton game last week, and Duncan is laid up with a bad cold, while Foster will be unable to play owing to a recent death in his family. The substitutes for these men, Pierce, Childs, and Blackall, while not so clever as the regulars are good steady players. In spite of these handicaps to the University team, the game should be a close...

The University team, however, was without the services of Leslie, who injured his knee in Saturday night's game, and Duncan, who was given a rest. At the end of ten minutes the second team was put in and defeated the Hockey Club by the score of 2 to 1, in 20 minutes of play, Childs, Pratt, and Hicks making the scores. R. A. Whidden...
...undergraduates marched to Yale Field to see the team in its last practice before the Harvard game on Saturday. Practice was very light and consisted mainly of signal drill and punting. Much time was also given to drop-kicking. Baker, who has been substitute for Captain Daly, wrenched his knee badly and will probably be unable to play on Saturday. The fifteen men who played in the Princeton game and Francis, who is again in good physical condition, left today for the Meriden Country Club, where they will remain until Saturday noon...
