Barbara Turner, JENNIFER JASON LEIGH'S mom, doesn't just knit her daughter sweaters. She also whips up screenplays. So when the actress proposed a script about a girl who can't sing (like Leigh) and her sister, who has a fabulous voice (as both of Leigh's do), Turner happily complied.
