Died. Joseph Wood Krutch, 76, author and critic, who in his later years won renown as a naturalist and conservationist; of cancer; in Tucson, Ariz. Prolific as well as scholarly, Krutch reviewed plays for the Nation from 1924 to 1952, during which time he published a dozen volumes of literary biography and theatrical history.
