...shot put we can compare very favorably with Europe's entrants. Houser from California, winner in the 1924 Olympics, Swartz from Wisconsin, and Kuck from Kansas have all done 50 feet. The scores we have from Europe were the records established a year ago. Vahstedt from Finland ranks highest with 48.3 feet; he is followed by Brechenmacher and Janssons, both men being able to put the shot 47.3 feet.
