...cheering in the Arena thus far has always been unorganized, and often uninspiring. Partly due to the haphazard allotment of seats, and partly to the lack of leadership, the students have not come forth with substantial proof of support. It is devoutly to be wished that tonight, when two teams meet very evenly matched, this defective backing may not be in evidence. If the contest is to be won, it looks as though victory were partly up to the University, and not alone to the team...

...unfortunate that President Lowell is compelled to touch upon the question of neglect in the matter of loan funds. The lack of conscience displayed by so many in neglecting to pay back the money the college has lent them is hard to understand. The fact that such loans are "debts of honor" should be enough to insure their speedy repayment. The men who do not pay back this money are doubly culpable. If there is any cause for worry, it lies in the fact that there is a lack of good second and third-string material in some of the events. The following men did not return this year: W. F. Potter, hurdler, H. Harbison, shot-putter, R. Cook, broad-jumper, R. A. Douglas, high-jumper, and F. G. Hartswick, high-jumper. This leaves a large number of veterans...

Team A missed several chances to score and in general seemed to have less snap than the substitutes. The stick-work of both teams needs considerable improvement, but the team-play was better and the shooting quicker and more accurate: Judging by Yale's apparent lack of team-play in last Saturday's game, this seems to be the University's best chance to win next Saturday...
