...Francis A. Walker delivered his second lecture on "Land Tenure" in Sever 11, last evening. The lecture consisted of an examination of the common criticisms against the established system of tenure of land, and was mainly a refutation of the theories of Messrs. H. C. Carey, Bastrat and Bouillet. The trouble with Mr. Carey, Gen. Walker said, was that in attempting to refute Ricardo's law, he confused this law with the law of populations; his criticisms were, in fact, "rank with inexact science and unhistoric history."
