BRAZIL Farm Invasions The government faced a growing crisis over land redistribution after peasants occupied President Fernando Henrique Cardoso's family farm and that of a close business associate. Police arrested 16 leaders of the MST landless movement after a 600-strong invasion of a farm belonging to Cardoso's sons.
