Seventy-eight years ago Sara Delano was born on the west side of the Hudson near Newburgh, N. Y. Her father, Warren Delano II, was a wealthy China tea merchant. Her great-great-great-great-grandfather, Philip de Lannoy, landed at Plymouth, Mass., in 1621 aboard the Fortune.
