...Messrs. Sabin and Hosmer of Boston, Maverick and Hemenway of the H. B. C. and Bickford of Somerville. Mr. Hosmer took the lead almost at the start, and for the first mile the order was Hosmer, maverick, Sabin, Hemenway, Bickford, the contestants being so close that the wheels almost lapped. Bickford dropped out on the second lap of the second mile, and shortly after Maverick met with an accident and retired. On next to the last lap Sabin made a very brilliant spurt, which he had apparently had in readiness for some time, and taking first place, he won easily...

Fogg started off at a rattling pace and was immediately cautioned by the referee. He got a good lead in the first lap which he was unable long to maintain, and he was passed on the 3d lap by Baxter and Brown. The latter took the lead from Baxter in the 4th lap, which he held till the finish, winning handily in 8 min. 59 sec. Baxter and Blodgett were almost even for second...

Page took the lead at the start, closely followed by Walker, Delafield and Coolidge in the order given. This position was maintained until the fifth lap, when Delafield spurted and drew away from the rest with ease. He finished in 5 min. 17 1/4 sec. Walker was second and Coolidge third. Yale, who now stands first, has strong nines to meet, and victory has by no means settled down in her lap. Although she so easily defeated Princeton last week, the fielding of Ernst on Saturday may yet bring about unexpected results, and Harvard, victorious at New Haven, may well prove so on Jarvis. The case is much the same with Brown; she has already beaten Princeton, but will play the second of the series on Tuesday, and we anxiously await the issue. One more game also remains to be played with Harvard, unfortunately upon that remarkable piece of ground...
