...defense Harvard was unable to stop Pennsylvania's fast and varied attack, and when in possession of the ball was powerless to make consistent gains, except during the latter part of the second half, when in three successive series of rushes, the ball was three times advanced almost half the length of the field only to be lost when within striking distance of the goal line. These were the only chances Harvard had to score during the whole game, except on a futile attempt to kick a goal from placement from the 50-yard line just before time was called...
...long end runs of Hurley being especially noteworthy. The work of the University eleven in the matter of running in punts and kick-offs was exceptionally good yesterday. Randall and Mills made excellent runs on the kick-off, the former once advancing the ball 35 yards and the latter 25 yards. During the last half of the scrimmage, in order to furnish the first team defensive practice, the ball was given to the second team on the first's 15-yard line. Parkinson, who has a slight cold, and Parker, whose ankle was strained Saturday, were not out. The latter will probably be in good condition for the Pennsylvania game: Nichols hurt his arm slightly in falling on the ball. In signal practice the first eleven lined up as follows: l.e., Randall; l.t., Brill; l.g., McFadon; c., Cunniff; r.g., Squires; r.t., Oveson; r.e., Shurtleff; q.b., Kernan; l.h.b., Osborne; r.h.b., Hurley...
