...William James Lectures, already begun by the Philosophy and Psychology departments, head the second group. Similar are the lectures on modern music sponsored by the Music Department and numerous informal lectures, closed to the masses, on science, literature, current politics usually held in House common rooms. The latter, followed to advantage by meals in the dining halls, afford a great opportunity for knowing distinguished teachers outside the classroom...
...characteristic of excellent plays, the story is to be experienced rather than understood. Suffice it to say that a young Italian boy has a choice between music and prize-fighting as a career; he chooses the latter and regrets it. Luther Adler as the fighter is excellent, and Francis Farmer as his embittered Sweetheart gives a fine performance though she lacks dramatic finesse at times. The difference between the human cornea and the rabbit cornea is that the latter is larger and deeper. If this operation proves successful I will perform a second operation on Hoffman's right eye, using the rabbit cornea as a base, and over this graft a human cornea. Whether or not his sight will again be normal, or near normal, is problematical...
