Yesterday afternoon, as the University crew, on its way upstream after practice, was going under the Cottage Farms bridge, it passed a canoe with two students in it. The men were absorbed in watching the crew, and by some mishap overturned their canoe just as the launch, which was following the shell, passed by them...
Yesterday afternoon the University crew squad held its first fall practice on the river. Three crews were made up and left the Newell boat-house separately, going up-stream. Neither launch was in commission and all the coaching was done by Mr. Wray from his single shell, despite the rough water. E. C. Bacon kept his stroke about 30 to 32 until the last half-mile, when he raised the pace...

The crew got away with a good start and rowed about 32 strokes per minute for the first half-mile, which was covered in good time. Then the stroke was lowered until the end of the second mile, where the Freshman...

Morgan, Adams, Maxwell, Macleod, Loring, Forster, Hadden, Vogel, Managers Morgan and Fahnestock, and Assistant Manager Howes of the University crew squad. They were met at the New London wharf by the launch "John Harvard" and came directly to the quarters. Tomorrow morning the crews will go out shortly after 11 o'clock. A. G. Gill 1L., who accompanied the squad as assistant coach and supervisor was appointed to succeed E. Farley '07, who resigned last week on account of his position...
