...Salamis, while the yacht regatta, which promises to be unusually brilliant, will take place in the Saronic Gulf. The provisional programme comprises: Foot races of various lengths, including a long distance run from Marathon to Athens (48 kilometres), bicycle races, running high and long jumps, putting the weight, lawn tennis, cricket and general gymnastics, shooting, fencing and swimming tournaments, boat races of all sorts and the regatta.
