...Although the Canadian counter-intelligence service claims Hampel was an agent for the SVR, successor to the cold-war-era KGB, Canadian security experts say part of Hampel's espionage "legend" - the false identity and public trail he allegedly established through nefarious means - does not entirely match the old KGB modus operandi. KGB agents would be reluctant to use the records of an existing citizen for the foundation of a spy's fabricated life...

...ending win for the first time. All in all, there’s a definite big brother-little brother dynamic to Harvard-Yale this year. Over the past half-decade, Harvard has been the kind of older sibling that won’t let the younger win. Dawson is the legend riding off into the sunset; McLeod is the young challenger taking aim at his new record two years down the line. ...first 007 novel, and Bond here is an agent on his first big case, a rough diamond who has not yet acquired his savoir faire or taste for the double entendre. The Craig Bond might know no French at all; he's not the suave, Oxbridgian 007 of legend but the strong, silent type, almost a thug for hire, and no smoother with a sardonic quip than John Kerry. Still, he fits one description Fleming gave of his hero: "[His face was] a taciturn mask, ironical, brutal and cold...
