...American Legion accused of being "bums, tramps and vagabonds" and "bought with British gold to suppress truth" was vindicated in Chicago. Arthur Lorenz, former editor of the Illinois Staats Zeitung (German), made the above remarks editorially. Suit was brought for criminal libel and Mr. Lorenz convicted by a jury.
