...practice yesterday afternoon was extremely light, consisting mainly of work on the quarterback kick, the forward pass, and in punting from a scrimmage formation, but because of the game today there was no scrimmage. Several new men were tried out on the first eleven. There is still a great need of halfbacks. Under the direction of Coaches Marshall and Knowlton, the first team line men were given practice in blocking and starting, while the secondary line men were shown the proper positions to be taken for the same kind of work. Fall practice began for the track men on Thursday, September 27. The work so far has been very light, consisting of starting and running short distances. The members of last year's team who have reported so far are J. L. Eisele '07, W. M. Armstrong '07, R. P. Lingle '08, H. R. Stiles '08, J. H. Kelly '08, E. H. Kelly '09, and A. H. Niblack '09. Among the promising men in the freshman class are D. Whitely of Lawrenceville, W. F. Talcott of Hill School, and H. Jones of Lawrenceville
