Even if you're not one for longhair entertainment, the area still may have something to offer you. The Popular Artist Series at Tanglewood is presenting Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie, Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor in the next few weeks. Ticket prices are steep--$5.50-$7.50--but what isn't? Allow yourself a little time to wander around nearby Stock-bridge and Lennox, quaint little villages where you can spend a fortune. Some basic familiarity with these places is de rigeur for anyone who wishes to hold his/her head high in Harvard Yard...

Rancho Deluxe might have been a film of considerable originality, something on the order of last year's under rated Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (which also starred Bridges). ...movie is shaky when the friendship between Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is sentimentalized, and at the end, when invention gives in to a mawkish resolution. But all the performers are excellent, and Eastwood unwinds a little from his customary characterization of a terse, razor-eyed stranger, breaking through to a kind of boyish affability. Cimino himself renders most of the movie with enough cunning to make it one of the most ebullient and eccentric diversions around...
