This time around, the band plucks hand-clapped rhythms and gentle xylophones straight from Motown’s golden age. Though Linton??s vocals mostly hit the mark, she is sometimes too ambitious. Her voice never quite passes as sultry, and is over-affected enough to hurt the slower numbers.
