Glamour Magazine selected Meghan Pasricha ’08 as a finalist in its Top 10 College Women award, adding the junior to a long list of Harvard and Radcliffe women who have been honored in the contest’s 50-year span. The June issue of Glamour, on newsstands now, features a photo and short profile of each finalist, along with a short blurb about her highlighted social cause. Pasricha was chosen for her efforts campaigning against youth smoking. Glamour donates $2,500 to a charity of each finalist’s choice, and gives the finalists themselves...
...Some analysts in Lebanon say that Syrian intelligence has a long history of working with Palestinian Islamist groups in Lebanon, notably Esbat al-Ansar, based in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in south Lebanon. Esbat al-Ansar is included on the U.S. list of international terrorist organizations. "Syrian intelligence has been working with groups like this for 20 years. ...According to figures released by the undergraduate admissions office yesterday, 1,630 of the 2,058 students who were offered the chance to matriculate next fall accepted it. The College is aiming for a class of 1,662 students, meaning that about 30 wait-listed applicants will also be offered admission.
