A voyeur, he captured lovers - like those in Couple at the Four Seasons Dance Hall, Rue de Lappe (circa 1932) - prostitutes and brothels, some "like a chapel lit up for midnight mass." About 190 drawings of a "born draftsman," as Pablo Picasso labeled the artist in 1939, will also be on offer, alongside a dozen of Brassaï's sculptures; prices range from €200-80,000. ...they break too many rules of safe space travel. Until the shuttle, no human being had ever been launched into space with solid-fuel rockets - comparatively primitive motors that burn a sort of rubbery goo and can neither be throttled up and down nor shut off once they?re lit. The shuttle?s two external engines burn solid fuel, and it was one of those that destroyed the Challenger. ...Killers Robert Siodmak, Don Siegel  The Ernest Hemingway story, about two tough guys in a diner, is one of the most influential works in American lit; without it, no Pulp Fiction. The 1946 movie expands the action with a long flashback about the gangster's prey, a haunted boxer called Swede (Burt Lancaster in his first movie). The 1964 version has murderous Lee Marvin tangling with the even more venal Ronald Reagan (in his last movie). The set also includes a third film, a short by renegade Soviet auteur Andrei Tarkovsky...
