...swing-dancing was absolutely divine. Stuffed with awkward and completely inexperienced couples, everyone had a good time bumping into each other while trying different spins and jigs. The live band was fantastic, sticking close to jazzy tunes with a variety of tempos for all the dancers to test their mettle. The other courtyard featured the drinks, where the BAT team served them stiff, but also included random (but well candled) tables populating the grassy area (they did serve as resting spots for the drunk and weary, however...

But the formal’s bifurcated set up—a dance party inside the JCR with a mildly classy live band and schmooze-fest outside in the Gore Courtyard—made FlyBy feel like it was teleporting between Junior Prom and a wedding reception...
Outside, the ball’s live band was a nice accent. It was really cool to have the musicians of Soul Boston play at Winthrop… last year. But it was kind of a downer to hear the same neo-soul renditions of “Brick House” and Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” that we'd all broken it down to the year before...
Daly wasn't flashy, but he dressed the part. Another Piston player, funnyman John Salley, named him "Daddy Rich," for his snazzy suits. Daly's coiffed hair, and intense stare, will live long in the mind of the millions of fans who fell in love with the '80s NBA, an era of great players (Bird, Magic, Michael, Isaiah, Barkley) and even greater rivalries, most of which involved Daly's Pistons. Sure, Boston-Los Angeles received the top billing, but the Boston-Detroit, Chicago-Detroit, and Los Angeles-Detroit playoff series are all classics. "I think Chuck understood people as well...
