Lee, University of Pennsylvania, won the first heat in 11 1/8 seconds, and Wendell the second in 10 4/5 seconds, Loney, Princeton, having a walk-over for the third heat. In the final heat, Lee was successful in 10 4/5 seconds, Randolph of Rutgers getting the second place, through Wendell's claim of foul entered against Stewart, College of the City of New York, and allowed by the referee. Princeton soon rallied, however, and slowly worked the ball to the middle of the field; soon the ball was near our goal-line, then was held down, and an instant after was behind our line. Sedgwick and Loney both touched the ball; Harvard claimed that Sedgwick had touched the ball down, but, as Loney held it on the ground after Sedgwick's hand had been taken off, the referee decided it a touch-down for Princeton, - a decision which created general dissatisfaction.
