...first game of Cricket for both the Harvard and Longwood Cricket teams occurred Saturday on the Longwood grounds. Both were good representative teams, and the Longwood Club were much assisted by Chambers their professional, and Geo. Wright. Objection was made to Chambers, but he was allowed to play on condition that he would not bowl. The game began shortly after 11 A.M. with Longwood at the bat, and was continued until 4.30 P.M. with an intermission for lunch. The ground was soft and soggy on account of the heavy rain the day before, and there was a strong wind blowing...
