...Massachusetts shortly after seven o'clock. The first business was the election of officers. Mr. M. Williams was unanimously re-elected president, Mr. A. W. Weld, vice-president, and Mr. J. Lowell, secretary. Two nominations were presented for treasurer, Mr. Walker, who held the office last year, and Mr. Longworth. The latter was elected by a yea and nay vote. Mr. Cumnock was unanimously re-elected captain of the crew, and Mr. Bass, of the eleven. Messrs. Peckham and D. S. Dean were both candidates for the position of captain of the nine. ...Edgar Pierce, Mr. S. Pitts Duffield, of Exeter, and Mr. N. Rantoul, of Hopkinson's School, were then nominated for president. It was voted to take an informal ballot. The chair appointed Sturgis, '90, Burnett, '91, and Longworth, '91, to act as tellers and to receive the ballots as the voters passed down stairs.
