...Lovin' Spoonful are four shaggies in their 20s who trade in "goodtime music." The most versatile of the new groups, they mix hard rock and country, funky blues and jug-band music. Noticeably absent from their repertoire were their more recent songs like "He" and "Go Ahead and Cry," no doubt because it would have cost too much to fly in from Southern California the choir that accompanies them on those efforts.
