...returning to Cambridge we had a series of unexpected bits of good luck in the selling of old boats, recovering the money spent on defective oars, and in other ways. We had up to that time incurred bills for a new cedar shell, for oars, training table, boat house charges, use of launch and various smaller items, amounting in all to $1131.76. We sold our broken barge for $50.00, the old paper shell of our freshman year for $20.00, our old cedar shell for $235.00, and the new one with the oars for $350.00. He played well in the Brown game, but, his leg weakening, he has been unable to maintain the pace. Cozzens too has suffered from injuries. He tackles well and gets good speed in running but is not entirely a safe back...
...Boyce of Brookline High School, who won two firsts and a second. In the hammer throw he broke the record by 5 ft. 8 3-4 in., and equalled C. Brewer's record of 21 ft. 6 in. in the running broad jump. He had hard luck in the low hurdles when he fell about five yards from the finish. He was running very even with Converse and would have won second place easily. H. J. Kane of English High School also did good work in winning the 100 and 220 yards dashes, the latter in the fast time...
