...fact, once the dazzle of the Lunt's presence has been removed, the whole play seems pretty muddled. There's a good supply of wit all right, but there are a couple of important characters who keep popping up during the play for the apparent purpose of showing that their lives have been ruined by Tom and Emily Chanler.
