Died. Elena ("Magda") Lupescu, 81, longtime mistress and later wife of Rumania's ex-King Carol; in Estoril, Portugal. Daughter of a Jewish pharmacist, Lupescu, a divorcee, met the already married Prince Carol in 1924 and became his highly publicized mistress.
