Coaches Herrick and Haines directed the practice of the University crews, from a launch which has been secured for use while the crews are at Lynn. University A had a three-mile row, not being bothered by the rough water. The stroke was varied, but the men showed the benefit of their long practice indoors by the unity with which they increased and retarded the stroke. Both University A and B will row this afternoon, this being the first Saturday practice of the year, which will probably continue the rest, of the season, since the crews are so late...

...University crews had their first work-out on the water at the Farragut Boat Club, Lynn, yesterday afternoon. This is the latest date in the history of University rowing for getting outdoors. The water was exceptionally smooth yesterday, and although there was a slight breeze, it made no material difference. Both A and B rowed for about 45 minutes, setting out with a slow stroke. Coaches Herrick and Haines directed the practice. If weather conditions permit, practice for these first two crews will be held outdoors today...

Contrary to the announcement yesterday, the University crews were not able to get out on the water. Although everything was ready at the Farragut Boat Club in Lynn, the weather was anything but favorable to outdoor practice. It is hoped that University A and B will be able to get out today...
