Almost anyone, however, might mildly enjoy Evel Knievel, a cheerfully silly motorcycle saga based on the life of a professional daredevil and his wife Linda (Sue Lyon). The movie is best when dealing with Knievel's early exploits: harassing the small-town Montana cops, riding into a dormitory full of giggling co-eds in pursuit of his girl friend, and stunt driving in a rundown local rodeo. After wriggling and pouting her way to fame as an oversexed nymphet in the 1962 film Lolita, Actress Sue Lyon went through a disastrous marriage. When cast in the title role of Kubrick's neither very sinful nor very immoral picture, Miss Lyon was a well-chaperoned young lady, and I suspect that her Broadway successor will be as old as she was at the time. Fourteen is not twelve, 1970 is not 1958, and the sum of $150,000 is not correct...
