Police in California's Santa Barbara County met on June 30 to discuss how to deal with an expected mad rush of traffic on the narrow hillside road leading to Jackson's Neverland Ranch for a planned memorial service on July 3. Jackson's body will arrive there a day earlier, in a 30-car motorcade from Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the singer's hometown of Gary, Ind., is reportedly seeking to have the body shipped there for another memorial service being planned for July...

...augmented by the subtlest surgery, allowed her to defy age and gravity. That was evident when she posed nude for a portfolio in the December 1995 Playboy, the magazine's best-selling issue of the '90s, and in Robert Altman's Dr. T & the Women (2000) she played a mad housewife who walks naked through a mall fountain. ...decide to write a children's book? Parton: I wanted to write a book that talked about the emotions of children, which is the rainbow. We all have moods. We talk about being blue when we're sad, and being yellow when we're cowards, and when we're mad, we're red. It's really about us all having these colors, and it's O.K. to have them, but it's learning how to deal with them and what to do with them. It's a sweet little book done in rhyme. I hope to write lots and lots...
