...knew they would be, both hunting and being hunted, fighting, sprinting for cover, holing up for precious panting downtime, "three teenagers in a tent whose only achievement was not, yet, to be dead." The transformation from schoolboys and girls to resistance fighters is complete: they are a three-person magical special-ops squad, bent on finding and destroying Horcruxes using what little high-school magic they have, the clues Dumbledore left behind, their wits (mostly Hermione's) and their inherent Gryffindorian bravery and good-heartedness. (They're looking for the Deathly Hallows, too, but I'm not going to deny...
...first visited Fenway Park 15 years ago and only remember an enormous green field, no home runs, or even any players. But my second game, a 14-inning thriller, excited me so much that I was convinced sluggers Mo Vaughn and John Valentin had enough magic to win every night. Bush campaign, and managed to nearly derail the then-Texas Governor's drive for the Republican nomination. Just as fitting, however, was the fact that McCain chose the Iraq War as the topic of his first speech...
...that Philip Baloun orchestrated for the rich, famous and socially stratospheric. Baloun, who attended the American Floral Arts School in Chicago while still a teenager, moved to New York City in 1976 to be a theater director. But instead of working on Broadway, he wound up creating glittering theatrical magic for the soirée set. Baloun invented a life-size Hungarian town square for financier George Soros' 70th birthday. For a New York City welcome for Prince Charles, Baloun conjured up a forest of trees in a towering tent at Lincoln Center, complete with painted stars on the ceiling...
