This is the last issue of 15 Minutes that Phil Rubin and I will edit. Today, as we hand the mag over to the next generation of editors, my feelings are mixed. I'll finally have time to work on my thesis, and I won't have to spend the night at 14 Plympton St. every Tuesday. But I will miss the mag, the paper and the people. And the end of my Crimson tenure makes contemplation of the End--the end of college--a lot harder to avoid. We have only six months...
...spent mostly at the Crimson, it's been found, can be permanently damaging--some might say mind-numbing. As soon as one issue is done and we hurtle out of the building on our bikes onto barren Mass Ave, we have to start thinking about the next week's mag. It's a killer cycle, which is why we deserve this space and have, for the past year, reserved it for a little self-indulgent rambling. But, we thought, why ramble with words, when pictures could do such a better...
...weekend is our time (15 Minutes, that is) at the Crimson. Especially Saturday, when there's no paper the next day...exit the frenetic news hounds, enter the smooth mag reviewers and feature writers. Unfortunately (for the mag, but fortunately for our souls), we gave up all that this weekend in favor of a road trip to Atlantic City, where things are as miserable as ever and old ladies, mesmerized by the blinking slot machines pump in quarters at 4 and 5 a.m. like it's midday and time for a tuna sandwich. Meanwhile, outside Bally's Grand Hotel...
