In the first place, the machine was in no sense whatever "wrecked"; in the second place, there was no "secret trial at night"; and in the third, this was not its "maiden flight," as there was no attempt, either successful or unsuccessful, to leave the ground. The aeroplane was taken from its tent shortly before 8 o'clock Tuesday evening to try the running gear in preparation for the advertised trial flights...
