Beginning with a walkout of 400 workers at the main Dodge plant, the stoppage soon idled 41,440 workers as parts shortages halted production in the major Chrysler plants. ...Automobile Club of Boston reported last night that virtually all main roads from Massachusetts to New Jersey and Pennsylvania are in good condition. The Massachusetts Turnpike is "clear and dry the entire length, with excellent driving conditions."
