Plans for rapid transit between Boston and Cambridge are now being considered by the Cambridge city government. According to the present charter of the Boston Elevated Railway Co. an elevated structure is to be built from the West Boston bridge to Brattle square, by way of Main street, Putnam square and Mt. Auburn street. Work must begin within six months of the completion of the new Cambridge bridge. As such a structure on Mt. Auburn street would greatly affect the adjoining properties, it is probable that with the agreement of all parties concerned, the plan will be changed...
