There was that letter (addressed fraternally to "Dear N. Makin") from old-time Bolshevik Dmitry Manuilsky, who as chairman of the Ukrainian delegation* ran the Russian show until Vishinsky finally arrived from his lengthy briefing by Stalin and Molotov.
