...best reason for this limitation which occurs to us is the desire to avoid publicity, but when this publicity can be of no possible harm, we are at a loss to understand the attitude towards it. Or possibly the authorities object to having the undergraduates make too much of a business of what should properly be a pastime, by entering into competition with the outside theatres. But a pastime becomes less pleasurable when attended with financial loss, and larger audiences would prevent the occurrence of this unfortunate contingency...

This year's contest promises to be an exciting and rigorous one. With two vacancies to fill, and possibly only one, the make-up of the University team should be settled early in the spring, and by the time of the first championship game Harvard ought to be able to send on the field an exceedingly good team, able to excel in all departments of the game. Yale is apparently handicapped by a lack of material, but a long schedule with several professional games and coaching by a professional player should make up for that deficiency...

Gardner scored almost immediately, and Morgan made the next goal after he and Hornblower had carried the puck the length of the rink. Accurate shots by Hornblower and Morgan gave Gardner the chance to make the next score. From a scrimmage in front of the goal, Morgan shot the puck into the net, and goals by Ford, Hicks, and Gardner followed in quick succession. This ended the scoring. Gardner was replaced by Leslie just before the close of the second half...
