...opinion is not absolutely rejected, I cannot place my desires on the same moral plane as women can. As Weiss notes, "The qualities the women had brought to the [negotiating] table--sincerity, an emotional intensity about sexual issues--were somehow not available to men." Making an appealing case for male desire is hard when sex is dirty...

...higher bone density than their counterparts in the control group. "Running prevents bone loss," concludes Lane, "and that's a good finding for women," since they often develop osteoporosis after menopause. At the University of Florida, Gainesville, Dr. Richard Panush and his colleagues compared a group of 17 male runners, ages 50 to 74, with a similar group of 18 non runners and, like the Stanford team, turned up no significant differences in the incidence of joint disease. The witches are quite good; the female portion of the cast (Rebecca Menes, Daniele Schecter, and Sarah Halper) is much more capable than the male. Schecter plays a delightfully sleazy general with leather skirt and riding crop, and ably changes gears to play a maid in the second half. Menes, as Lady Duncan-cum-witch, slinks gracefully around the stage, an able temptress. She should have given the rest of the performers lessons in poise...
