Hollis, with six-four center Charles Mallone scoring 28 points, won a hard-fought double overtime 39-36 contest from Thayer North last night. The victory gave Hollis the championship of the first half of the freshman intramural basketball program.
Thayer was unable to cope with Mallone's height, and consistently fouled in a vain attempt to stop him.
Hollis will also try to continue a winning streak, having won eight after dropping its initial contest. Center Charles Mallone has been the top scorer, but the team is well balanced, said manager Jim Kincaid, who plans frequent substitutions.
