Sometimes the chief is the culprit. Chairman Terence Fox of Iroquois Brands, the Greenwich, Conn.-based maker of Champale malt liquor, was arrested in November after being discovered in a hotel room with $8,000 worth of cocaine. Last year Miller Brewing filed a $19 million civil suit against Robert Landau Associates, a New York City sports-promotion firm that had gone into bankruptcy proceedings in 1984. The brewer, a former client of Landau Associates, charged that President Robert Landau spent $2 million of Miller's promotional money on cocaine, racehorses and other personal expenses.
