...East, Eleanor Franklin Egan died last week in Manhattan. She began writing at 18 as a correspondent for 'Leslie's Weekly during the Russo-Japanese War. In Japan, she was married to Martin Egan who then represented the Associated Press. Later, they edited together the Manila Times.
