...opening track, "The Best Thing," with a funky ferocity that nevertheless shows off Pierce's soulful voice and harmonics, while "Transatlantic" is a true tear-the-top-off rocker. There are quieter moments as well: with the assistance of hometown friend Lisa Loeb, "Home" portrays the thoughts of a man who has recently found happiness in all that he already has. Despite that neither English or the Siamese he speaks in the film are well-known languages to him, his words are infused with a range of convincing emotions.
