Inverurie, St. George-announced their intention "to accept reservations for dining, dancing and entertainment from local residents without discrimination," and to allow visiting (but not resident) Negroes in rooms. Most smaller hotels, nightclubs and restaurants followed suit; movie theaters abandoned segregated seating.
