Differing from bright predecessors only in size, the monster Monticello searchlight is the latest creation of Elmer Ambrose Sperry, inventor of gyroscopes, gyro-compasses, stabilizers, searchlights (TIME, March 30, 1925, Nov. 1, 1926).
