Last evening in the Fogg Art Museum Lecture Room, Dr. Marcou delivered the second of the series of lectures under the auspices of the French department, on the subject, "Are French Poets Poetical?" The reason that many English speaking people, among them Emerson, have not believed in French poetry is that the rhythm is so essentially different from that of English verse.
