...spite of the unfavorable weather a good number of marksmen assembled at the Watertown range yesterday. This was the third and last shoot in the matches which have been running during the past three weeks. The shooting in these matches, including the freshman match was remarkably good. ...quiet afternoon, with just enough of coolness in the air to make a warm gun barrel acceptable to the fingers, attracted a dozen marksmen to the Watertown grounds on Wednesday. The changes made in the arrangement of the shooting shanty and the trap pits have greatly improved the grounds, and the men present seemed well pleased with the accommodations. ...plan of forming a Harvard Rifle Association. Where or when they will practice is as yet undecided. The plan seems to be a good one and undoubtedly a good membership would be secured. Since the decease of the Harvard rifles, there has been no action by those who are marksmen. If the association prove a success, rifle clubs will be formed in other colleges and an inter-collegiate match may be the result. ...MORROW the Harvard Rifle Club will shoot with the Cambridge Rifle Club at the range on Brattle Street. This is the first match in which our new Rifle Club has engaged, and we believe it is the first time that any college team has tried its skill with other marksmen.
