Wayans does more comedy bits than Spencer, and while not overly original, his overdubbing of a Japanese martial-arts film with hip-hop dialogue and singing was amusing. Nothing he has done so far, though, is nearly as clever as the best sketches on In Living Color...

Two months after Donald Trump and wife Marla called it quits, The Donald's former wife Ivana says she has separated from her husband of a year and a half, Riccardo Mazzucchelli. Although the New York tabs had a field day --"Ivana be Alone Again" said the Post -- Ivana's lawyer said neither side has filed divorce papers. Perhaps that's because, according to the Post, an airtight prenuptial agreement prevents Mazzucchelli from claiming a share of the $25 million Ivana got when she divorced Trump. Ah, love...

Novelist Thomas Perry's answers (which seem to be, respectively, "quite hard" and "not much") have carried him handily through three highly readable if not altogether believable episodes in the career of Jane Whitefield, a lone operative of stunning beauty and bone-crushing martial-arts skills. She is half Seneca Indian and half Irish American, and her useful talent is to function as a very unofficial one-woman witness-relocation program, helping people disappear into new identities when the forces of evil are about to pounce. She thinks of herself as "a guide," and she most often guides with brainpower...

There will be more delicate cases in the future. The Army has reduced its number of adultery-related courts-martial from 95 in 1992 to 81 last year; the Navy from 27 in 1995 to 15. But the Air Force will probably keep moving in the opposite direction, according to Northwestern University military sociologist Charles Moskos.
